Planners need to switch between day view, week view and month view (or multiweek) to be able to check the quality of the shift planning and if there is any warnings that needs to be fixed.
Scanning for warnings is critical part of the user flow. There are different levels of warnings, being the hard ones the warnings that needs inmediate action.
The user needs to easily access to the details of each shift on a multiweek view to check for warnings, tasks to be done, start and ending times and punches. This is a in depth view of each shift.
Scalability of the shit view was a key part of the project.
We created a component that can adapt to multiple views while keeping the key information available.
On a multiweek view you want to know if a shift is allocating unnecessary tasks or need some specific tasks to then assign it to employees with the relevant skills.
Old allocation view
New allocation view
The new version is still on development, but initial validation and test runs with Key customers and super users has confirmed the following:
1. Time use to execute mass actions, meaning optimisation for 100+ employees, has been reduced significantly.
2. The process of identifying warnings has been reduced allowing shift planners to focus on creating quality shifts.
3. Allocation graph has allowed planners to quickly identify quality/non quality shifts, helping them to react fast and make changes before publishing. This is critical as a bad quality shifts has a direct impact on KPIs and daily budgets.
